You may have come across a person who claims to be 'allergic to cold'. Many people think that it is just an illusion, because if someone is allergic to 'cold' how do they survive they winter? The truth is that some people are sensitive to cold conditions due to cold urticaria.

This leads to the occurrence of a medical condition known as cold urticaria. Cold urticaria is therefore a situation where ones skin reacts with the surrounding frosty atmosphere, leading to the formation of unpleasant body rashes on pimples on ones skin.

This condition is known to affects body parts that are left uncovered during the cold seasons. They are widely found around the feet areas, the hands and on ones face. This means that you need to ensure that you have covered every part of your body during the chilly days and nights if you want to avoid being infested by the cold urticaria.

However, if you know how to manage cold urticaria, then you don't have anything to worry about. This is because the best way of ensuring that you are immune to the condition is by making sure you have the correct attire for cold seasons. When the temperature fall to below normal, it is advisable to stay in the house until told otherwise. This is the only way of preventing this condition.

Other people want to swim in cold swimming pools even when the surrounding temperatures are below 00 C. This is putting yourself at risk of not only getting the painful hives that come about with the cold urticaria condition, but also being infected with serious respiratory infections. People take the condition lightly because there are times when the hives cannot be seen, but if you are not careful, cold urticaria can lead to serious conditions such as frost bites which may eventually be fatal. Thus one should seek medical help once they notice they have fenny rashes on their skin.

When you seek medical help, the cold urticaria pimples can be spotted by the help of ice compressions. This is procedure that is performed at a majority of medical facilities so that they can identify the places infested with the hives, in order for them to apply treatment. One is prone to feel some itchiness on the area that has the rashes when the ice cubes are applied, thus being able to spot where to apply treatment.

Another way of getting rid or cold urticaria is by nursing the area that has been infested by the hives using a towel that has been wrung out of warm water. This makes that conditions unsuitable for the hives to continue existing, thus with time, they will not be there. You can also suppress the pain brought about by the rashes by taking a bath in warm water.

Also ensure that you wear protective clothing in the cold. This is one sure way of getting rid of the hives as they cannot stand being in warm environments.
