By James S. Doughty

Charity fund raising is great for all those involved. The best part is coming up with the ideas for what to do to raise money. Many offices are fond of waxing the men's legs after a monetary target has been reached, and cake sales go well for those looking for a little money to boost their marathon fund.

Running a marathon is a huge achievement. There are many hosted around the world, but the most famous one in the UK is the London Marathon. Every year this event provides a huge boost to the funds of charities around the world, and enables them to continue their work.

Charity bags are good for giving those that don't normally give to charity a way to do so without it needing to be cash. Old goods that aren't in use anymore can be given to those in need or sold to raise funds for a cause that helps others.

Having a celebrity associated with a charity is hugely beneficial as it gets all of that celebrity's fans involved with the charity as well. Having a celebrity attend and compete in a fund raising event will also undoubtedly increase the funds raised by a huge number.

Charity events are good to get involved in and fun to watch. There are so many different kinds that they can be anything from a sponsored silence to a super marathon across the Sahara. Everyone likes to be involved in charity events no matter what they are and the more people there are the more money is raised.

Many people simply want to raise a few hundred pounds for their chosen charity to give it a small boost. Ranulph Fiennes not only raised millions for his charities, but also set up many that are still going today. He is a great example of what every charity needs and also a great inspiration for those that want to raise money for charity.
