By Rosie Stafford

If you are a photographer who would want to make a living out of architecture, then you better give this article the once over first. You may have all the necessary skills but that is not enough. You would have to perform some steps to ensure your success in this field. Otherwise, you would simply be another photo enthusiast that nobody knows about.

First, try not to think professionally. You are a hobbyist who is going to get paid for all the pictures that you will take in the near future. If you are able to put this inside your head, then nothing can literally stop you from being the most popular architectural photographer Baton Rouge in your town.

Second, gather all the clients that you would be able to find. These people can be your friends or complete strangers. Try not to be so picky with your customers. At the starting stage of your career, you must learn to grab every opportunity that comes your way.

Third, practice the virtue of patience. As a photographer, you will be required to take several shorts. Thus, you should not hesitate to try and try until you succeed. Hours of work must also not cause you to dislike your job.

Also, try to embody the principles of a boy scout. You should be prepared for the worst. Remember that people are not your subjects this time around. You would be handling establishments and the direction of the sunlight towards these venues will always be an important factor.

Moreover, try to put your salary at the back of your head. If high funds are not immediately coming your way, then that is because your customers still see you as novice. Thus, you will have to work really hard to change their perspective and eventually get the profit that you deserve.

Be able to work on your portfolio too. You can do that by working with all the clients who have decided to acquire your services. However, try to pick out the projects that would help you really display your skills. Remember that your portfolio will have to be diverse and presentable at the same time. Otherwise, it would not attract your potential customers and you will be left without a job at the end of the day.

Be an optimist too. Your career may look a bit rough right now but know that this is not a permanent feature. You will soon see the light at the end of the tunnel. You should just put in your head that it is all about proper timing and perseverance. The top of the professional ladder is not that far away.

Overall, do not crave for money. Photography should not only be work for you. It must be one of your reasons for living. Also, do not stop learning. If you want to be able to keep up with the competition in the field, then you should act like a student who is constantly hungry for new knowledge.
