Having a wonderful time wish you were here! I know it sounds corny for me to be sending you the same ole line on this letter but its true! I have truly enjoyed my stay here in Key West Florida, and thought I would write you a note while I'm sitting on this beautiful sandy beach, underneath the palms, basking in the sun. I have seen so many things this trip, I just had to write and tell you! It is so amazing down here.
As soon as we got checked in, we put on our comfortable clothes and shoes, to explore! So much to see, and yes, we did some souvenir shopping down on Duval Street, in between going into Sloppy Joe's, Captain Tony's, Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, and we found Pat Croce's Rum Barrel right off Duval Street. We stopped for a late lunch at the Harborview Cafe, a great waterfront restaurant at the Pier House Resort. We saw a lot of the fishing charter boats and catamarans while we ate, then we headed over to enjoy the sunset festivities of world famous Mallory Square! There are so many talented street performers, and we enjoyed the show of Cat Man, with the tricks his cats do, amazing! I can't even get my cat to come when I call it, all I get from it is a "meow!" We saw the most gorgeous sunset, and we're looking forward to doing the same thing tomorrow, as we heard that all the sunsets are spectacular and different every day! Tomorrow we're planning a fishing charter, the next day maybe a snorkeling trip over to the reef! Our concierge told us, that all we have to do is show up, don't have to bring a thing, and they even provide lunch, and drinks! We want to go on one of those romantic sunset sails! Everything is so reasonably priced within our budget!
We have time while we're on the island to visit the many museums and tours that are offered. We are going to visit Hemingway's House, and see the six toed cats, explore the grounds where Ernest Hemingway wrote some of his novels. Right across the street from there is the Lighthouse Museum, might even venture up 88 steps to see the view, 88 steps up and 88 steps down! We want to go also to Mel Fisher's Museum, and see the treasures he discovered from the shipwrecked Atocha. Lets see the Southernmost House Museum, which is also a guest house, the Ship Wrecker's Historium, to hear them yell "Wreck Ashore!" in order to salvage the supplies from shipwrecks. We also want to go to the Key West Butterfly Conservatory, on Duval Street. We heard too that the "Old Town Trolley" tour is great, and very informative about the whole island! We want to go over to the Fort Jefferson National Park, which is a day trip to the Dry Tortuga's!
Looking around at my surroundings here on this beautiful beach, its almost like a dream, its so relaxing, a perfect place to unwind. A warm breeze is helping us to unwind from any daily stresses we may have brought with us! We are noticing others on the beach who are like us soaking up the rays, but we noticed something a little further down the beach, we have never seen before, we are witnessing a wedding on the beach, what an excellent idea! A storybook wedding right here on the beach, we saw the groom and his friends and family walk barefooted down to the waters edge, watched the bride who is dressed in a perfect beach wedding dress, yes, barefooted too, be escorted down to the groom, everyone gathers close, listens and waits for the kiss to seal the union! What a happy occasion to see, so many hugs and congratulations, we see the photographer and a videographer capturing the emotion of this day. We will never forget this moment of our trip, this has truly made this vacation more memorable! I wonder where they will celebrate? Perhaps one of those really nice restaurants like A&B Lobster House, or maybe Michael's, or Louie's Backyard, or maybe even the Commodore Restaurant!, and for desert? Key Lime Pie!
Well, now that I've totally relaxed, its time for me to put this letter to rest, roll over and drift off in a dream while working on my tan on the other side. Yes, I'm in Paradise, this wonderful place, Key West Florida, I'll send this letter off to you later today, along with some photos, so you can see what I've been talking about, take care and we'll see you soon!
