Six Things To Do In Parks

By Stephanie Price

If you ever find yourself wanting to have an escape and a relaxation, you do not need to hurt your budget. Aside from booking a flight to the Maldives or having an overnight drive to the beach, you also can opt for the quickest and most affordable type of relaxation out there. All it takes is five minutes to grab a coat, put your shoes on, and open the door to head outside and walk towards your favorite park. A great example of such destination is the McCowin Park.

There is always a great feeling whenever you are outdoors, immersing in nature. It clears up your mind and provides you a fresh perspective on certain things. Many things can be relished when you find yourself in a park, but here are simple underrated activities that you could always opt for. These might already seem familiar, but in a world that celebrates the extremes, you can still find joy in mundane things.

Get your exercise and engage in sports. Put on your running shoes and prepare your best workout songs in a playlist. The open space allows you to move around freely. This way, you get in shape while also enjoying the trees and the wind around you. Grab this opportunity to look for your yoga partner, because a lot of them are just relaxing underneath the largest tree out there.

You could also enjoy your favorite sandwich for lunch on a park bench. The area is jampacked with vendors selling fruits, ice cream, and even coffee. You will surely satisfy your cravings and fill up your appetite with the variety of meals to enjoy. Among these, you can even set up a small picnic for yourself and with some loved ones and just cherish the surroundings.

Next, channel your inner photographer by taking photos. There is always a great joy in sharing a story through a picture. The view is great in parks if you just also have a good eye. Still, take photos of the fountain or the lake. Do not be afraid to ask someone to take your photo for you. Just make sure they are trustworthy and do not attempt to run away with your camera or phone.

Work breaks are made more fun when you stroll around the place. Take this time to also catch up on what you are reading or relax with some of your favorite songs. These mundane activities bring great pleasure. You can still have some private time and enjoyment with such ease, without hassle. Being at the park is simply the right place to be.

Go to the nearest pond and feed some ducks. This is actually more enjoyable than expected. There is almost a therapeutic feeling of watching them eat bread and other feeds. However, you must ensure that you are giving them healthy food and not harming them. Most importantly, ask the locals if you are even allowed to feed them. You never want to get in trouble just because you want to help.

Crowded malls or coffee shops are overrated. Spend some time with friends at the park and enjoy the gentle breeze with good conversations. Nothing is better than watching friends and family catch up along amazing landscapes and relaxing views. Picnics, gatherings, and simple meetings are usually done for free in these areas.

Finally, enjoy every moment you have, whether with yourself or with some people. It is always a joy knowing that you can still have fun without having to pay much. In this generation, many underrated things are taken for granted, but they are actually the most fun to do. In this case, underrated is more preferred than the mainstream.
