Television shows and current movies all have certain themes that are played once they come on the screen. The good folks who call Tucson AZ home know that science fiction music is entertaining on every possible level. When "Space 1999" "Lost In Space" and "Star Trek" were first created they had great tunes to go along with their opening. Classic television shows have been around for decades and it always helps when they have great intros.

During the 1960's Gene Roddenberry created a hit series titled "Star Trek" which dealt with a Captain and his crew who were exploring outer space for several years. At the start of this show William Shatner would say a few words before a daring tune would start playing. People all over the world are familiar with this sound which was created by Alexander Courage who was a great musician during his time.

Every person around America also like the short tunes that Alexander added to this series whenever the Captain or his crew were in some sort of danger. Nowadays younger people also whistle the "Star Trek" theme whenever they are playing adventure games or doing any other types of activities.

When "Star Trek" ended Gene Roddenberry decided to do other projects to fill up his time. He waited until the 80's before getting another musical arrangement for the series "The Next Generation." Another very special show which featured the crew of Alpha Control was called "Space 1999" and it contained some really groovy sounds.

This very British show featured talented actors who were all interesting on every level. The human beings living within the United States had never seen any of these thespians before but they were still impressed with their work. It was also great that former "Mission Impossible" stars Barbara and Martin Landau were able to work on this series.

The series hired a male named Barry Gray to arrange all of the musical numbers for this unique production. Many viewers were pleased to take a sneak peak at the show while the opening credits were on. These particular tunes playing at the start of the show were exciting. After a couple of years had passed "Space 1999" was finally finished and both Barbara and Martin moved back to the states.

Fans all over the world still watch and love "Lost In Space." This was one glorious series which featured the best animation that humans have ever seen. The opening credits during the first and second season included images of the actors floating in space. This sequence was created by a composer with the birth name of John Towner Williams and he is very intelligent. John decided to do a different opening after the second season ended.

Viewers were now able to see the faces of the actual actors who were starring within the show. This was a way that everyone could actually see Guy Williams, June Lockhart, Johnathan Harris, Mark Gooddard, Marta Kristen, Angela Cartwright and Billy Mummy. The tune was very upbeat and really made human beings jump for joy. Unfortunately this was the last season of the show since the ratings had slipped. Mr. John Williams also created the theme for the motion picture "Star Wars" during the 1970's and this was one of his greatest accomplishments.
